1. Provincial Cabinet Shuffle Announced

2. HRIS Quadrant Software Webinar Announcement

The Community Care Information Management (CCIM) program’s HRIS project team has launched a new HRIS Quadrant Software Webinar for Community Mental Health and Addictions (CMH&A) and Community Support Services (CSS) organizations across the province.

The January 12th seminar was highly successful.  Future presentations are scheduled for:

Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EST
Registration Deadline: Thursday, February 4, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. EST

Thursday March 4, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. EST
Registration Deadline: Monday, March 1st, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. EST

3. “Making Gains 2009 Conference” Presentations Now Available (repeat)

The November 2009 conference website now has workshop presentations available as an online resource.  You can download your choices here:

4. Looking for Work in the Mental Health and Addictions Field? (repeat)

This is just a reminder that there is a dedicated website for Ontario job-seekers (and for organizations wishing to post ads):

5. Empowerment Council (CAMH Consumer/Survivor Systemic Advocate Organization) in the News

The Empowerment Council was an intervenor in this legal case that took on the question of whether the Ontario Review Board had the authority to order other branch of government to pay for psychiatric assessments:

6. Report on Research on Mental Health and Micronutrients

This news article about a New Zealand research study into the use of a 36-ingredient formula of micronutrients (vitamins, minerals, and amino acids) found encouraging improvement in test subjects with diagnoses of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and mood disorders:

7. The Law as it Affects Persons with Disabilities (Call for Papers)

The Law Commission of Ontario is in the midst of a project to develop a systemic framework on legal issues as it affects persons with disabilities.  They are soliciting requests for proposals for funding research that will be in the form of papers that address certain themes.  You can find out more here:
